Why Do You Believe What You Believe?

Posted on February 2, 2017 at 2:50 PM Comments comments (0)
Why do you believe what you believe about the Separation of Church and state, particularly when it comes to teaching in public schools? Hi, Russ Tippett here, again. Most of you folks know Cindy Baden and I produce Leadership and Personal Growth Skills for kids 12 -18 years of age for the Academy for Leadership Abilities®. We get frequent questions concerning this topic, particularly from the kids in public school classrooms. Everything we produce is based on Judeo-Christian principles. Belief in religion is a choice. Understand up front that Cindy and I choose to believe in the Living God of the Holy Bible. Now before you turn off this video, hang around a little longer and consider some very interesting facts we learned while we were questioning ourselves about why we believe what we believe about the Constitution of the United States. Facts, not opinions. Listen to this: the Supreme Law of the United States is the Constitution of the United States. A brief excerpt from the Constitution reads??? to assume among the Laws of Nature and of Nature???s God ??? ???that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. According to the Bill of Rights First Amendment, we have the right to Freedom of Religion, including Freedom of no religion, if that is your believe; not Freedom from Religion. By studying the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Federalist Papers, Cindy and I quickly determined our Founding Fathers had a deep belief in God. We decided we had better know why we believe in what we believe about the American Constitution. We asked ourselves, if America???s Founding Fathers believed so deeply in God, what kind of disease has inflicted America???s congressional leaders, our so-called representatives, over the last 100 years. Our conclusion was quite easy to determine. That disease is CORRUPTION. Plain and simple. Corruption is the disease that is always present among the people who hold the power. There always has been and there will always be those who believe their views are superior to everyone else???s. And, therefore, their job is to dictate what everyone else is supposed to believe. Meanwhile, those in power believe whatever they want to believe and conduct themselves anyway that will benefit themselves. That is the way it has always been and that is why our Founding Fathers, by using common sense principle, built America???s system of government with three separate branches of government to help control CORRUPTION. Our Founding Documents established this new form of government to protect us from the Ruling Class that has destroyed freedom since the dawn of civilization. Got your interest up, yet? Hang around with us. We???ll share some more interesting facts that were never taught in public school. Some pretty amazing stuff. Please share this video with your friends and neighbors. We believe they will enjoy what we have learned, also. Have a great day. Keep smiling, everyone will wonder what your are up too. See ya??? at the next spot Bye Bye. Live Your Dream

Posted on January 19, 2017 at 1:35 PM Comments comments (0)

I would like to SHARE with you a very true Appalachia Story. Here goes…

In 1954, I was 12 years old when I first dreamed of someday traveling the entire 981-mile length of the Ohio River on my own boat.

That dream was fanned by me reading books: Zane Gray’s Stories about Betsey Zane and Lew Wetzel of the 1760s era; Stephen Ambrose’s Voyage of Discovery about Lewis & Clark’s 1803-2004 trek across un-explored America; Mark Twain’s Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, Life on the Mississippi; and, in 1996 me reading Harlan & Anna Hubbard’s 1945-1950 book Shanty Boat about building their own boat and floating the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers from Cincinnati, OH to New Orleans, LA.

I took me 50 full years to actually live that dream, but I did it. In 2004 I completed trekking the Ohio River from Pittsburgh, PA to Cairo, IL. What a thrill it was when I finally completed that long thought about dream. Words can not express how rewarding completing that dream really felt.

You may not dream about trekking the Ohio River, but I’ll bet throughout your life, you have dreamed that SOME DAY I AM GONNA…

Believe me, you can live you own BIG DREAM if you will make up your mind to make it happen. If I can do it, you can do it.

For Christmas 2016, Cindy Baden gave me Harlan Hubbard’s book Shanty Boat Journal, edited by Don Wallis. I just completed reading that book. Boy did it ever bring back memories! Most memories were pleasant, some memories were scary, all were fascinating memories that I will never forget. What a rewarding experience that adventure has been in my life.

Guaranteed, it is not too late for you to live your BIG DREAM.

Be careful about thinking, Can I? and continually think, How Can I? Believe me, you can figure out how to live your BIG dream.

NOW, enjoy your adventure.
